Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning is a Public Charitable Trust registered under Section 10 (23C) (vi) of the Income Tax Act, 1961, for providing quality education free of charge to students for all programmes of study. This includes waiver of all fees – tuition, examinations, laboratory, library, sports, medical and so on. Programmes offered include undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and research.
The Trust has been granted recognition under Section 10 (23C) (vi) of the IT Act, 1961, and Section 6(1) of the Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act, 1976.
The Institute, run by the Trust, has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as a ‘Deemed to be University’. It has a merit-based open admissions policy for all, irrespective of economic background, religion or region. Contributions to the Deemed to be University enjoy exemption under Section Section 80G(2)(a)(iiif) of the IT Act, 1961
SSSIHL has been registered for undertaking CSR activities and the Registration number is CSR00060508.
In line with the vision of the Revered Founder Chancellor, all research at SSSIHL is needs-based, and therefore helps alleviate problems affecting the poorer sections of society, ultimately leading to societal benefit.
