Dr. Sai Muthukumar graduated from Sri Sathya Institute of Higher Learning in 2003 with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics. He pursued his Masters in Physics (specialization in Electronics) and then went on to complete his M.Phil. and Doctorate degree in Nonlinear optical properties of Nanostructured Materials in 2010 from SSSIHL. He then joined Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning as a Lecturer at the Dept. of Physics in 2011.
