Dr. Sowmya Srinivasan

Starting her teaching career as a Middle and High school English Teacher (May 2009 – April 2010) at Velammal Matric. Higher Sec. in Tamilnadu, Dr. Sowmya Srinivasan had a short stint (September 2006– April 2009) with Tutors Worldwide India Pvt. Ltd. Chennai as a Language Analyst and content designer for online teaching. This involved working on K12 curriculum design as SME for American students.             

Dr. Sowmya Srinivasan had the opportunity to work at SRM Institute of Science and Technology. as the Head, Dept. of Career Guidance (June 2012- April 2014) where she organized career-oriented programmes including technical and non-technical, initiated placement/job-oriented courses in the UG syllabus, and arranged expert training for students appearing for campus placements. She also taught as a Part-time faculty at SRM for a few years before joining them as an Assistant Professor (July 2018-October 2021). She also held the role of a Cultural coordinator and Chief of the Student-monitoring committee during this period.

Prior to her joining SSSIHL in December 2022. Dr. Sowmya Srinivasan worked as Assistant Professor (Sr. Grade) at SRM University, Sikkim teaching major course papers in English for both UG and PG. In addition, she was a Ph.D. supervisor and also supported other activities as the Undergraduate programme coordinator and Syllabus coordinator (NAAC).

Dr. Sowmya Srinivasan has to her credit several publications and papers published in various International and National Journals. She has also presented several papers at National and International Conferences and Seminars. She is currently working as Assistant Professor with the Department of Languages and Literature, SSSIHL.
