The Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences hosted “Culinary Clicks – A Workshop on Food Styling and Photography Basics” to enhance participants’ skills in capturing the artistry of culinary creations, on 3 February 2024.

This workshop organized by Prof. N. Srividya, DFNS, featured insights from certified Food Photographer, Mrs. Sai Aditya, the workshop instructor, who shared tips on setting the scene, mastering camera techniques, and the art of post-processing the pictures.

The well-structured event garnered excellent feedback from participants, who expressed immense satisfaction with the workshop’s organization and the valuable content presented. This flavorful experience ignited a newfound passion in the participants for showcasing the beauty of food through the lens.

National Start-up Day was celebrated on 16th January 2024 at the Sai Hira Global Convention Centre, Prasanthi Nilayam. Organized by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), SSSIHL, the event commenced with Vedam chanting followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and saw several Industry and academic experts on Innovation and Start-ups, alumni entrepreneurs, and seasoned professionals come together to share their thoughts on various topics with the young minds in the audience.

The august gathering was welcomed by Prof. B Raghavendra Prasad, Vice-Chancellor of SSSIHL setting the tone for an insightful day dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

Prof. Reddanna, an Emeritus Professor from the University of Hyderabad, captivated the audience with a thought-provoking keynote address on the “Role of University in Promoting Start-ups” Dr. R. Venkataramanan, the Founder and CEO of Karkinos Healthcare, shed light on SSSIHL’s pivotal role in cultivating entrepreneurial skills. Mr. Naveen Lakkur, Chief Innovation Coach, shared profound insights into the inseparable nature of technology and innovation, drawing from his book “The Inseparable Twins”.

The event further featured a dynamic panel discussion moderated by Sri Lakshmikant, Co-Founder of Value Craftz Advisors, with esteemed panelists exploring diverse facets of entrepreneurship. Dr. Anshuman Das, CTO, and Co-founder of Labby Inc., shared his captivating “Startup Journey”. Later the IIC Magazine “SRISHTI”, was released by the Revered Chancellor & Vice-Chancellor.

Two exemplary faculty members of SSSIHL, Dr. Murli Ravi from the Department of Physics and Dr. B. E. Pradeep from the Department of Biosciences, were recognized for their outstanding contributions toward innovation. A panel discussion, skillfully moderated by Mr. M Sainath, Executive Director of ICFAI, delved into crucial topics such as adaptability, innovation, sustainability, and more, featuring insights from industry leaders.

The event drew to a close with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Swetha T, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management and Commerce, followed by the Maha Mangala Aarati, symbolizing the culmination of a day dedicated to the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurial excellence.

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences celebrated “National Mathematics Week” in honor of Srinivasa Ramanujan’s 136th birthday. The event aimed to commemorate Ramanujan’s legacy, raise awareness about Ancient Indian Mathematics, and promote general mathematical awareness.

The key events included a National Level Mathematics Quiz involving 25 schools, an exhibition on ancient Indian mathematics by undergraduate and postgraduate students, two talks by distinguished speakers Prof. Arni S. R. Srinivasa Rao on “Perspectives on Ancient Indian Mathematics,” and Dr. Shriram Chauthaiwale on “Some Innovative Indian Contributions in Mathematics”.

In addition, a National Level Art Contest, themed “Geometry in Nature,” engaged 96 children nationwide, with three winners selected. Throughout the week, undergraduate and postgraduate students delivered seminars on various mathematical topics and practical applications, providing insight into Ramanujan’s life and work.

The celebrations fostered enthusiasm, scholarly curiosity, and a renewed appreciation for India’s rich mathematical heritage. The event successfully laid the foundation for ongoing learning and discovery in the field.

The Department of Chemistry, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, organized an International Symposium on, “Recent Trends in Sustainability in Chemical Sciences” on 16^th December 2023 at Prasanthi Nilayam Campus.

The symposium examined the status quo of the sustainability domain from multiple perspectives of academia, industry, and management. Eminent international and national speakers, from diverse backgrounds shared their valuable insights encompassing various facets of sustainability ranging from recycling, the packaging industry, socio-economic considerations, management principles, industry challenges and breakthroughs, fundamentals, and scope of applications in materials science.

Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL) (Deemed to be University) will hold its 42^nd Annual Convocation at the Sai Hira Global Convention Centre, Prasanthi Nilayam, Andhra Pradesh in the Divine Presence of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba on Wednesday, 22 November 2023 at 3:20 p.m.

The Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu has graciously agreed to be the Chief Guest and will deliver the Convocation address. The Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh Sri S Abdul Nazeer will be the Guest of Honour.

The grand ceremony will see the Chancellor, Sri K Chakravarthi, IAS (Retd.), admit candidates to their undergraduate, postgraduate, professional, and doctoral research degrees.
