DESCRIPTION
We are seeking applications for an Assistant Professor in Sanskrit who is a dedicated teacher and an avid researcher. The selected candidate will teach Sanskrit as a second language and also offer value-added and minor courses as required.
Additionally, she will be responsible for supervising doctoral scholars in her area of specialization. She is required to actively participate in department events, including organizing conferences, workshops, and collaborations. Most importantly, she should be an active researcher, engaged in ongoing research, contributing to research publications, and developing and writing research projects.
Beyond academic duties, the Assistant Professor will play a pivotal role in engaging students through extracurricular activities, aligning with our commitment to the Sri Sathya Sai System of values-based integral education.
REQUIREMENTS *
- A Ph.D. in Sanskrit
- Must have a relevant and valid NET/SLET/SET qualification
- Must hold a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Sanskrit with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) for both degrees
- Candidates with teaching experience at the University level will be preferred
- Must have a proven track record of high-quality research and publications in peer-reviewed (UGC-CARE preferred) journals
- Excellent Sanskrit communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in English is necessary to communicate with students effectively
- Candidates with active involvement in writing research projects and experience in Research Supervision (PG dissertations & Doctoral thesis) will be preferred
- Appreciation and willingness to live a disciplined life as per the code of conduct of the University, based on the basic human values as enunciated by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is essential
