DESCRIPTION
We seek an Assistant Professor who will teach courses in Bioscience and conduct practical sessions. The selected candidate will also guide BS (Hons.), M.Sc., and Ph.D. students in their research projects.
Additionally, the candidate will be required to secure extramural funding for research through grants or consultancy, collaborate with faculty across departments and with clinicians to help establish a center of excellence in multi-omics and systems biology, and undertake administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.
Beyond academic duties, the Assistant Professor will play a pivotal role in engaging students through extracurricular activities, aligning with our commitment to the Sri Sathya Sai System of values-based integral education.
REQUIREMENTS *
- A Ph.D. in any branch of Biology
- Must have a relevant and valid NET/SLET/SET qualification
- Must hold an M.Sc. in any branch of Biology at the Master’s level and a Bachelor’s degree in Science with Biology as one of the subjects with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) for both degrees
- Must have post-doctoral experience, teaching experience will be an added advantage
- Experience in guiding PG dissertation students and PhDs will be an added advantage
- Experience in Genomics and functional genomic techniques, metagenomics, especially, the gut microbiome will be favorably considered
- Working experience in diseases like Cancer, Neurodegenerative diseases, or metabolic disorders is essential
- Must have a proven track record of high-quality research and publications in high-impact journals
- Proficiency in English is necessary to communicate with students effectively
- Appreciation and willingness to live a disciplined life as per the code of conduct of the University, based on the basic human values as enunciated by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is essential.
