Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), Prasanthi Nilayam, Andhra Pradesh signed an MoU with All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysore, Karnataka on 20 November 2023 to further common academic interests through collaborative research and exchange of expertise, resources, and related information. One of the key areas is to address congenital problems in children with speech and hearing impairment, leading to learning disabilities.
This includes the exchange of faculty and researchers to promote research & development activities, student exchange programs including Internships and projects, and conducting seminars and lectures that further research collaboration between the two Institutions. Some of the areas of interest in the fields of Speech and Hearing include using Genetics and genomics, Big Data Analytics, Biomedical image, Signal processing, and app development for assessment and assistance to therapeutic and remedial measures. Similarly, the therapeutic use of Music & Veda, Analytical studies for developing policy guidelines, linguistic studies to identify the cause of disabilities and remedies, and Nutritional dietary supplements for the target population are the other areas of proposed collaborative research. Students Internship/Projects for Management Students is an important aspect of this MoU.
The MoU was signed by Dr. M Pushpavathi, Director of AIISH, and Dr. Srikanth Khanna, Registrar of SSSIHL. Prof. B Raghavendra Prasad, Vice-Chancellor, SSSIHL, Dr. Ramkumar, Chief Administrative Officer, AIISH, Mysore, Prof. Pallav Kumar Baruah, Dean of Sciences, SSSIHL, Dr. P Sujith Kumar, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Biosciences, SSSIHL and Sri Nishikant Barodekar, Asst. Professor, Music, SSSIHL were present at the event.
The Vice-Chancellor announced the MoU during his welcome address at the 42nd Annual Convocation of the Institute on 22 Nov 2023, in the presence of the Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu.
