Prof. (Miss) Madhu Kapani

Overview

Prof. Madhu Kapani’s expertise is in the field of Value Education, Educational Psychology, Pedagogy of English, Guidance and Counselling, and School Administration. She is actively involved in research work in addition to her full-time teaching duties. She has attended many national and international conferences and seminars as a resource person in value education and has conducted workshops in the integration of Human Values with all curricular subjects for school teachers. She has authored a book on Education in Human Values-Concept and practical implications, published by Sterling Publishers, New Delhi, and published papers in journals, chapters in books, prepared modules for International Diploma Course in Guidance and Counselling, through distance/online mode in collaboration with COL, Canada, organized by NCERT New Delhi, and also written module in Guidance and Counselling for M.Ed. course through Distance Education for IGNOU New Delhi. etc.

She graduated from Jyoti Vihar, Sambalpur University in 1974 with Honours in English. She pursued her Masters in English and then went on to complete her B.Ed and M.Ed programs at the same university. She joined Government Gangadhar Meher College in 1982 as a lecturer in the Dept. of Education and worked for four years before joining Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Education when it was formed in 1986. She completed her Doctorate degree in Education in Human Values, with a meritorious gold medal in 1990. She was the Head, Dept of Education, SSSIHL from 1988 to 2015. She was the Dean, Faculty of Economics and Humanities, SSSIHL, from 2012 to 2016. She was the Director of Anantapur Campus from 2014 to 2017. Currently, she is teaching as Honorary Professor at the Department of Education.
