Pt. Nishikant Barodekar is one of the most famous Tabla players of India. He is groomed & trained in the ‘Gurukul’ system by Ustad Allarakha & Ustad Zakir Hussain in the art of performing and teaching for more than fifteen years. Being an ‘A’ grade artist of the AIR & TV, he regularly performs all over the country and abroad. He is the recipient of the Laya-Shiromani and Taal-Mani awards, as well as completing the Alankar in Tabla, in 2008.
He has a vast experience in teaching for over 20 years some of his senior disciples are professional tabla players in the country. He has conducted many Music Workshops across the world where he excels in teaching authentic traditional compositions as well as the art of accompaniment with Instrumental, Vocal, Dance & Fusion music. He has also conducted Master classes at many universities and colleges abroad, such as Harvard, Kanto Gakuen University, University of North Carolina, etc.

Research Interests
He has composed new Kaidas, Relas & Chakradars in various difficult Taals like 8.5 and 6.5 beats. His research work and creativity in the field of World Rhythms has helped him develop the dynamicity to flourish the Art & Science of Tabla.
