Dr. Ashok teaches Biology to undergraduate students. In addition, he is involved in research at the department.
He completed his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, from 1979 to 1989. Thereafter, he served as Vice-Principal of English Medium School (ICSE) and Member, Management Committee of Sri Sathya Sai Gurukulam, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, a residential education institution with schools run by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Prasanthi Nilayam until July 1998. He then joined the Dept. of Biosciences, SSSIHL as a Lecturer and is currently serving as an Associate Professor (Hons.) in the department.

Research Interests
Study of Bioactive molecules produced / induced to be produced by endophytic fungi inhabiting medicinally important tree forms. Screening for and studying the extracted Bioactive molecules for their antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties using bacterial cells as well as yeast / mammalian cell lines; purification and characterization of Bioactive molecules
