As part of the “Mera Pehla Vote” 2024 initiative of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a series of events were organized to create voter awareness for first-time voters at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, women’s campus. The 14th National Voters Day was observed on 25/01/2024.
As per the guidelines of AICTE and UGC a two-week voters campaign was launched between 28/2/2024 and 6/3/2024. All the students participated in events such as debates, quizzes, voters pledge, blog posts, and rallies. The event concluded successfully on 14/3/2024.
“Mera Pehla Vote” 2024 – Blogs & Quiz on mygov.in
As a part of the nationwide campaign to motivate first-time voters to participate in the electoral process and create voter awareness, the students enthusiastically participated in the mygov.in activities. A total of 500 students participated in the pledge ceremony conducted during the assembly. All the student participants received digital certificates. Several of the students achieved Enthusiast Level 1 in the Quiz on Indian Democracy. The students proactively published their blog posts on mygov.in. The bloggers received appreciation and earned 100 points. It was a momentous week. Student participation was eventful and rewarding. Each of the students received digital certificates of appreciation and good scores.

As a part of the 2-week 28/2/2024-6/3/2024 long Campaign to create awareness among the students, especially the first-time voters an awareness activity was conducted on 4th March 2024. All the students from all faculties of commerce, science, and arts participated in quizzes and voter’s pledges in 2024. A total number of 100 students participated in this event.
Administration of the Voter’s Pledge “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye”
On 5th March 2024, students and staff from all faculties participated in this event enthusiastically to assert and pledge their first vote in 2024 during the Assembly session. A total number of 500 students participated in this event. The importance of the campaign and the role of first-time voters was disseminated by Ms. Astha Karikdoli Darjee, IIBA.
The student administered the pledge to all the students and staff in the college auditorium of the Women’s Wing, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anantapur Campus.
Debates & Discussions:
As a part of the campaign to motivate first-time voters to participate in the electoral and democratic process of our nation the students of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Women’s Wing, Anantapur Campus have conducted a debate and discussion on the theme “The Role of Indian Youth in shaping Indian Democracy”. The students enthusiastically participated in the debate highlighting the need for responsive and responsible youth in building the nation. Mera Pehla Vote Desh ke Liye 2024 is the first step in this process.
