Prof. Raghunatha Sarma completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL) between 1987 and 1992. Following the completion of his postgraduate studies, he joined the Institute as a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. He later earned his Ph.D. from the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prasanthi Nilayam, in 2009.
Prof. Sarma currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at SSSIHL. Over the years, he has held several key academic and administrative positions, including serving as the Director of the Prasanthi Nilayam Campus. He currently serves as the Associate Dean of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, where he plays a pivotal role in fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary initiatives within the University.

Research Interests
His major area of research interest lies in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. He is currently working on areas such as AI in Sports: analyzing cricket bowler action, Whole Slide Imaging: Image analysis on pathology slides for disease classification, Thermal Image Analysis: low resolution thermal images are segmented for object detection, Spectral Clustering, Novel similarity measures are crafted for better results, Social Security data Mining: proposing Data Mining techniques for better perspective and understanding (with current focus on the Ayushman Bharat scheme)
