Dr. Raghunatha Sarma did his graduation and post-graduation from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning between 1987 and 1992. He then joined the department for teaching position. He went on to complete his Doctorate degree in 2009 from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prasanthi Nilayam. He is currently the Director of the Prasanthi Nilayam Campus, SSSIHL.

Research Interests
His major area of research interest lies in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. He is currently working on areas such as AI in Sports: analyzing cricket bowler action, Whole Slide Imaging: Image analysis on pathology slides for disease classification, Thermal Image Analysis: low resolution thermal images are segmented for object detection, Spectral Clustering, Novel similarity measures are crafted for better results, Social Security data Mining: proposing Data Mining techniques for better perspective and understanding (with current focus on the Ayushman Bharat scheme)
