Prasanthi Nilayam, the Abode of the Ultimate Divine, attracts tens of thousands of pilgrims from over 100 countries each year. The ashram has a specific daily schedule for the benefit of visitors and devotees alike.
It wakes up with the chanting of Aumkar 21 times at 5.20 a.m. in the Mandir (Sai Kulwant Hall), followed by Suprabhatam (invoking the Lord of Parthi). Vedic chanting by a small group of selected devotees, starting from the Mandir, and after circumambulation of the Mandir and Bhagawan Baba’s Residence, culminating at the Ganesh Mandir. Simultaneously, Nagarsankirtan (devotional bhajan singing around the Mandir) by ladies and gents in two separate groups, one followed by the other starts from the Ganesh Temple, almost following the Veda chanting group, and, after circumambulating Mandir and Bhagawan’s Residence, returns to the same spot at the Ganesh Mandir.
The Sai Kulwant Hall (located at the entrance of the ashram near Ganesh Gate) welcomes all people to participate in Vedam chanting and Bhajan singing, everyday. After the bhajan session, following Mangala Arati, devotees are allowed to come in a line for a close Darshan of the Sanctum Sanctorum, both in the morning and evening.
Timings are as below. During the summer months (typically March to June), the evening schedule below is shifted slightly (30 minutes later start) owing to the heat. Please note that the Vedam and Bhajan timings are fixed but Samadhi darshan timings will vary depending on the crowds each day.
